XC2V Prototype Car Design Competition: the winners
Local Motors has announced the results of the XC2V Design Competition. The winners is Victor Garcia from US with his FLYPMODE concept. The second and third place were won by Marc Senger and Romain Chareyre.
Launched back in February by Local Motors and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the XC2V Competition asked the designers’ community to create a body design for a military vehicle, calledExperimental Crowd-derived Combat-Support Vehicle (XC2V).

The winning project by Victor Garcia is called FLYPMODE: it received the $7,500 award and will be prototyped between now and June.

Following the company’s spirit, the entire development process will be shared and visible through its website.
FLYPMODE has an architecture focused on 360 degrees visibility and protection, combined with an aggressive look and a modular design that allows to quickly reconfigure it and to remove parts for maximum agility.
FLYPMODE can transport up to six passengers.

The second place and the $1,500 award was won by Marc Senger (United States) with his KRATOS Concept.

With a name derived from a Greek word meaning power it is focused on speed, protection, versatility and rescue efficiency.
Sentinel Concept Sentinel Concept
The third place and the $1,000 award was won by Romain Chareyre (France) with the Sentinel Concept, a buggy-like vehicle with a minimal bodywork that enables it to travel at high speeds.
